Who we are

Indus Valley School of learning Pre-Kindergarten to Grade VIII was created with an aim to encourage children to build up knowledge through meaningful activities and independent research, using various resource materials. It is an integrated programme and therefore benefits from various systems of education. We not only believe in Montessori system of education but we also believe in Jean Piaget’s Constructivism and Lev Vygotsky’s Socio-Constructivism, which state that a child constructs his own intelligence from direct interaction with the environment and social groups. We share Jerome Bruner’s idea that young children intuitively grasp basic concepts of science at an early age. We also don’t want to forget Froebel’s Kindergarten where play is a means of education.

Different educationists may have different views about how to build up a child’s intelligence, but they all agree that the early years are the most productive years of any human being. A person learns more during this formative period than he does his entire life. And hence, to make these early years pleasant, enjoyable, and constructive, we provide language based, developmentally appropriate experiences to all children.
