Curriculum
The curriculum for all grades has been carefully designed to fulfill a child’s need to intuitively gain and build knowledge as well as to meet the existing standards followed by quality schools. Hence the children will settle in any environment with great ease and confidence, when they leave our school.
LANGUAGES
We follow a comprehensive language curriculum, because of which majority of the children in our Prep. class are able to read materials designed to be read by grade -1 children in other schools. This is proved regularly in reading tests taken by teachers invited from other prestigious schools in the area.
MATH
Children have an inherent knowledge of Math. We help the children relate this knowledge to real life and solve Math problems. Great emphasis is laid to concept building. And hence, children are able to successfully apply their Math knowledge to every day life.
SCIENCE
We follow an interrogative approach. Topics are linked to each other and children build their information connecting and leading one piece of information to another. Children are encouraged to build information independently using a number of resource materials. In addition to books, magazines, and newspaper, supervised internet has also been made available to the children to gather information on various topics.
SPORTS
Sports are an integral part of the school routine. Children are involved in various sports such as cricket, hockey, basket ball, and racing on daily basis.
MUSIC
Music is enjoyed by the children on regular basis.
HUMANE EDUCATION
Teaching ethics is the most important part of our curriculum. In addition to teaching the children about various personalities around the world, different themes are run during the year to inculcate the humane aspect in children.
ART
Art and craft have a special place at Indus Valley School of Learning Pre-Kindergarten to Grade VIII. Highly competent art teachers keep the children involved in interesting art activities on a regular basis.
